WHAT'S HAPPENING
SYMPOSIUM & WORKSHOP ADAPTIVE NETWORKS FOR PARASITE SPILLOVER
SAVE THE DATE: 29 JAN 2024 - 2 FEB 2024
AT Universidad Complutense de Madrid - SPAIN
Human-induced landscape changes impact parasite life cycles, leading to spillover and disease emergence. Despite increasing data on biodiversity and parasite prevalence, the mechanisms linking landscape alterations to zoonotic diseases remain unclear. To address this, we'll develop frameworks integrating models and data to predict host-parasite network dynamics, including realistic rewiring mechanisms. This approach aims to uncover how evolving interactions drive disease dynamics, providing new insights for predicting and managing emerging infections.
This event is organised by Cecilia Andreazzi Team, supported by Serrapilheira Institute, and held at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. It is linked to the project Towards Dilution Landscapes (full project title: Disease meta-community ecology: Moving from dilution effect to dilution landscapes)
The Workshop will be closed only to invited researchers, but we offer a Symposium on 29 January 2024 to the general public (online). You can access the Symposium here.
